New builds in your Telegram group

Pro and Team

Many teams talk in Telegram, not Slack. When a new test build is ready, someone still has to copy the link into the group by hand, and testers who were not watching miss it.

Add a Telegram integration with a bot you make in @BotFather, and AppForShare posts a short message to your group or channel when a build is ready, when someone installs, or when a tester sends feedback.

Example

Telegram, QA group

  • Build readyShop 2.4.0 (88), Android, install link
  • InstalledPixel 8, Android 15, Germany
  • Tester feedbackBug, iPhone 15, 2 screenshots, report link
Bot token and chat id are stored encrypted and never shown again.

Made for

  • Teams and clients who coordinate testing in a Telegram group
  • Agencies with one Telegram channel per client
  • Solo developers who want a phone notice for every build

What it ends

  • Pasting each new install link into the group by hand
  • Testers asking whether there is a new build yet
  • Feedback noticed a day late

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Make a bot

In Telegram, talk to @BotFather and create a bot. Copy the bot token it gives you, and add the bot to your group or channel.

  2. Step 2

    Add the integration

In Dashboard, Integrations, add Telegram, paste the bot token and the chat id (a number such as -1001234567890, or @name for a public channel) and pick the events.

  3. Step 3

    Send a test

Press Send test to check the message arrives. From then on every matching event posts on its own.

What gets posted

Three events: build ready, build installed and tester feedback. Each is a short message with a link to the install page or the report. Feedback messages carry the kind, the device and the number of attachments, never the tester's text, name or email: those stay in AppForShare.

Your bot, your chat

The messages come from your own bot, so you choose the group or channel and can remove the bot at any time. The bot token and chat id are stored encrypted and never shown again. Messages go to api.telegram.org only.

Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Discord and signed webhooks work the same way from the same page, with more event kinds.

Questions

Which plan do I need?
Pro or Team, like the other integrations.
Where do I find the chat id?
A group or private channel has a number such as -1001234567890. A public channel can use @name.
Does the tester's feedback text go to Telegram?
No. The message says the kind of report, the device and how many attachments it has, with a link to read it in AppForShare.
Can I post to several chats?
Yes. Add one Telegram integration per chat.
