AppForShare vs AppsOnAir
AppsOnAir (by Logicwind) is a suite of mobile products. Build sharing, which it calls OTA Distribution, is one of them, next to CodePush updates for React Native, deep links, push notifications, a force update and maintenance SDK, and an in-app feedback SDK. Its paid plans cover all of those.
AppForShare does one part of that: getting test builds onto phones. Upload an .ipa, .apk or .aab, send a link or QR code, and testers install from the phone browser with no app and no account. Around that sit channels, link controls, tester feedback, CI tools and the store steps. For build sharing alone it costs less, and you can start without an account.
If you want CodePush, deep links or push from the same vendor as your builds, AppsOnAir covers more. If you only need test builds, compare the rows below.
Pick AppForShare if
- You only need test build sharing: Pro is $12 a month and Team $39 a month with 5 seats, against $59.97 a month for AppsOnAir Pro with 5 members.
- You want to share a build without making an account, a workspace or an app first.
- You want a password on a free plan. AppsOnAir passwords start with Pro.
- You want links that stay live while you subscribe instead of at most 90 days per link.
- You build Android App Bundles: an .aab becomes an APK testers install. AppsOnAir lists .apk and .ipa.
- You want testers to send feedback with screenshots from the install page or from inside the test build, with no app to install and no sign in.
- You upload from CI and want a token based CLI, a GitHub Action, a fastlane plugin, an upload API and an MCP server.
- You want notices in Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or Discord, and tester reports sent to Linear or Jira.
Pick AppsOnAir if
- You want a bigger free tier: 300 MB files and links up to 30 days for one app. Ours: 150 MB and 7 day links on Free.
- You want a native tester app in the App Store and Google Play. Our tester app is an installable web page on Team.
- You want the CLI on a free plan. AppsOnAir offers its CLI to every workspace for now; ours needs Pro or Team.
- You want more members on the middle plan: AppsOnAir Pro has 5 and Pro Plus 20. AppForShare Pro has 1 seat; Team has 5 and more at $6 a month each.
- You want CodePush, deep links, push to app users, force update or an in-app feedback SDK from the same vendor as your builds. AppForShare has none of these.

AppsOnAir details checked on November 2026 from its public pages (AppsOnAir plans and pricing, AppsOnAir OTA Distribution, AppsOnAir OTA FAQ, AppsOnAir OTA CLI, AppsOnAir CLI commands, AppsOnAir terms, AppsOnAir privacy policy). Plans change; tell us at contact if something here is out of date.
A suite or a build sharing tool
Most of the AppsOnAir price pays for products that work inside apps already in the stores: CodePush updates, deep links, push to app users and force update. If you use those, one vendor for all of them can make sense. If you only send test builds to testers and clients, AppForShare Pro at $12 a month covers that, and Team at $39 a month adds 5 seats, tester groups, private projects and a custom domain.
Free tiers
AppsOnAir Free takes 300 MB files and keeps links up to 30 days, for one app, with no password, after you make an account and a workspace. AppForShare works without an account (50 MB, 3 days), and Free takes 150 MB with 7 day links, passwords and no limit on projects. A Free owner can pay $2 once to keep one link live for 60 days.
Several links for several clients
Both let you give one build several links. On AppForShare that is Pro (3 extra links per build) and Team (20): each link has its own label, password, stop date, install cap and install count, and the who installed list names the link. Turning one off leaves the build and the other links working.
Where AppsOnAir is ahead
Its free tier is bigger (300 MB files and links up to 30 days), it has a native tester app in both stores, its CLI is offered on Free for now, its middle plan includes 5 members and Pro Plus 20, and it sells CodePush, deep links, push and force update if you want one vendor for those. Keep those products where they are; only the builds need to move.
