Microsoft Teams
Post every new build to the Teams channel your testers and clients already read, with the install link one tap away. You can also get installs, App Store and Google Play review states and new customer reviews. It uses the Workflows webhook that Teams has built in, so there is nothing to install and no admin approval for an app. Pro and Team.
1. Create the Workflows webhook in Teams
Open the channel, press the three dots next to its name and choose Workflows. Search for "webhook" and pick the template "Send webhook alerts to a channel" (older tenants call it "Post to a channel when a webhook request is received"). Give it a name, check the team and channel, and press Add workflow. Teams shows a URL: copy it.
2. Add it in AppForShare
Dashboard, Integrations, Add webhook. Pick Microsoft Teams, paste the URL, choose the events you want (for example build.ready and store.status) and, if you like, one project. Press Send test: a test card appears in the channel within a few seconds.
3. That is it
Each event now arrives as a card with the app icon, name, version, platform and size, the release notes and an Open install page button. Store events show the new state, for example In review, Approved or Rejected.
Questions
- Which plan do I need?
- Integrations are part of Pro and Team. Teams itself only needs Workflows (Power Automate), which most Microsoft 365 business plans include.
- Do I need to install an AppForShare app in Teams?
- No. The Workflows webhook is built into Teams and posts the card for us. A listed AppForShare app in the Teams Store is on the way; the webhook keeps working after it ships.
- The URL is refused. Why?
- AppForShare accepts Workflows URLs (they end in logic.azure.com or powerplatform.com) and the old Office 365 connector URLs that Microsoft still runs. Copy the full URL the workflow shows, including everything after the question mark.
- Cards stopped arriving. What changed?
- A workflow runs as the person who made it. If that person leaves the company, loses the license or the flow is turned off, Teams stops posting. Make the workflow again from a shared account and update the URL in AppForShare. After 15 failed deliveries in a row we switch the webhook off and email you.
- Can I send different apps to different channels?
- Yes. Add one webhook per channel and limit each to one project. You can also pick different events per channel, for example installs in one and store review states in another.
