IPA inspector: profile, UDIDs and App Store readiness
Drop an .ipa to see its provisioning profile, expiry date, provisioned devices, entitlements and permission texts, and what App Store Connect would reject. It runs in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.
What it checks
Provisioning profile
Ad Hoc, Development, Enterprise or App Store, the team, the signing certificate and the date the profile expires.
Provisioned devices
Every UDID in the profile, searchable, so you can tell at once why a tester cannot install.
App Store readiness
Xcode and iOS SDK version, privacy manifests, empty permission texts, launch screen, icon, iPad orientations, version format and more.
What is inside
Minimum iOS, devices, architectures, entitlements, app extensions, background modes, frameworks and the cross platform stack.
Build looks good? Get it to testers
Upload the same file to AppForShare and send testers one install link or QR code, for iPhone and Android alike. Free without an account.
Questions
- Is my IPA uploaded?
- No. The file is read in your browser with JavaScript, so it never leaves your device and there is no size limit. Only if you click "Share this build with testers" is it uploaded to AppForShare.
- How do I check which devices an IPA can be installed on?
- Drop the IPA here. The provisioned devices list shows every UDID in its embedded.mobileprovision. A device that is not on the list cannot install an Ad Hoc or Development build. Get a missing UDID with the free UDID finder, add it in the Apple Developer portal, then export the build again.
- How do I see when my provisioning profile expires?
- The Signing section shows the profile name, team, certificate and the expiry date with the days left. After that date the app stops installing and opening on test devices.
- Why does it say App Store distribution?
- The IPA is signed with an App Store profile. That is the right file for App Store Connect and TestFlight, but it cannot be installed from a link. Export with Ad Hoc or Enterprise signing to share it with testers.
- Which App Store checks does it run?
- The same store readiness rules AppForShare runs on every uploaded build: the Xcode 26 and iOS 26 SDK requirement, privacy manifests in the app and in Apple listed SDKs, empty usage description texts, launch screen, asset catalog icon, iPad multitasking orientations, version number format, 64-bit code, App Transport Security, export compliance and profile expiry.
- Can it read a Flutter, React Native or Unity IPA?
- Yes. Any .ipa built by Xcode works, and the tool also tells you which cross platform framework the app was built with.
