Icons done, now get it to testers

Upload your .ipa or .apk to AppForShare and send testers one install link or QR code. Every build gets a store readiness check against current App Store and Google Play rules.

Questions

What image should I start with?
A square PNG of 1024 x 1024 pixels. That is the App Store icon size, and every smaller size is made from it. A non square image is cropped to its center square.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The icons are drawn and zipped in your browser, so the image never leaves your device. You do not need an account.
What is in the zip?
Only the platforms you tick. Xcode asset catalogs for iPhone and iPad (with iOS 18 dark and tinted icons), Apple Watch, Apple TV (layered icon and Top Shelf images), Mac and Vision Pro; Android res folders for phones and tablets (adaptive and themed icons), Wear OS and the Android TV banner; favicon.ico, Apple touch and PWA icons with a web manifest; Expo assets with an app.json snippet; and the listing icons for the App Store, Google Play, Huawei AppGallery and Amazon Appstore. A README says where each folder goes.
When do I get dark, tinted and themed icons?
When your artwork sits on a plain color or a transparent background. The tool removes that background and makes the iOS 18 dark and tinted icons and the Android 13 themed (monochrome) icon from what is left. For a photo or a busy design there is nothing clean to remove, so they are skipped and iOS and Android make their own.
How are Apple TV and Vision Pro icons layered?
Both get a solid background layer in your background color and a front layer with your artwork, so the parallax and depth effects work. For a richer effect you can later replace the layers with your own artwork split into more layers.
Why does my iOS icon have a background color?
App Store icons cannot contain transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you pick. Corners stay square because iOS rounds them.
Why is there padding on Android?
Android launchers cut adaptive icons into a circle, a squircle or another shape and only show the middle part of the foreground. Use the previews and the padding control so your logo is not clipped.
Does it work with Flutter and React Native?
Yes. Copy AppIcon.appiconset into the iOS asset catalog (ios/Runner/Assets.xcassets in Flutter) and the Android res folders into android/app/src/main/res. Expo projects get an expo folder with the images and an app.json snippet.
