Codemagic pricing in 2026: free minutes, per minute rates and teams
· 6 min read
Codemagic pricing has two halves that people mix up: what a build minute costs, and what you need to pay for once more than one person is involved. This guide lays out both, with a few worked examples. Every price below is as listed on codemagic.io/pricing and in the Codemagic billing docs on November 5, 2026. Codemagic changes these pages, so check them again on the day you decide.
The plans
| Plan | Price | Minutes and machines | Members | Artifacts kept |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free (personal) | $0 | 500 macOS M2 minutes a month, 1 parallel build, 120 minute timeout | 1, collaborators cannot be invited | 30 days |
| Pay as you go | Per minute (below) | Extra concurrency $49/month | Unlimited | 60 days |
| Fixed annual | Mac mini M2 $3,990/year, M4 $5,400/year, M4 Max $9,000/year | 3 concurrencies, unlimited minutes | Unlimited | 1 year |
| Enterprise | From $12,000/year | Custom timeout, dedicated machines | Unlimited | Not listed |
Each extra concurrency on a fixed annual plan costs $1,500 a year on M2, $1,800 on M4 and $3,000 on M4 Max. Free minutes reset on the first of each month. "Unlimited applications" is listed on the free plan.
Per minute rates on pay as you go
| Machine | Per minute |
|---|---|
| Mac mini M2 | $0.095 |
| Mac mini M4 | $0.114 |
| Linux X2 | $0.045 |
| Windows | $0.045 |
Codemagic's billing docs also say builds that fail or time out "because of a Codemagic service error will not count". Builds that fail because of your code do count.
The rule that changes the math: teams
The 500 free minutes belong to a personal account. Codemagic's docs say "Free minutes are not available if you are using a Team." Build dashboards, tester groups and the iOS device registration link are team features. So if you want a client, a project manager or a QA person to see builds inside Codemagic, you move to a team and start paying for every minute.
That is not a hidden fee; it is written in the docs. It does mean the jump from solo to two people is bigger than it looks on the plan card.
Worked examples
These are simple sums with the listed prices. Real builds vary in length, and retries count, so treat them as estimates.
Solo Flutter developer
If an iOS build takes 15 minutes on a Mac mini M2 and you run 30 a month, that is 450 minutes. On a personal account that fits in the 500 free minutes: $0. Add Android builds on the same Mac and you may pass 500; Linux machines are cheaper per minute, but check which machines your personal plan includes.
Small team on pay as you go
If the same 30 iOS builds of 15 minutes run in a team, that is 450 minutes at $0.095, about $43 a month. With 30 Android builds of 8 minutes on Linux at $0.045, add about $11. Roughly $54 a month for builds, before extra concurrency.
When concurrency is the cost
If two developers often wait for each other's iOS builds, an extra concurrency is $49 a month on pay as you go. That can cost more than the minutes.
When fixed annual makes sense
The M2 fixed plan is $3,990 a year, about $333 a month, with unlimited minutes and 3 concurrencies. At $0.095 a minute, that is about 3,500 M2 minutes a month. If your team builds less than that, pay as you go is usually cheaper.
Over the air updates are priced apart
Codemagic Patch, its CodePush service for React Native, lists the first 100,000 monthly active users free and $99 a month for each additional 100,000, with unlimited releases, storage and bandwidth. An older changelog entry mentions a different pay as you go rate, so quote the pricing page. AppForShare does not host over the air updates, so this is not a cost we replace. App Preview, which runs builds in the browser, is listed per minute too.
A price you may still see quoted
Some third party sites still mention a monthly cap on Codemagic spending. We did not find it on the current pricing or billing pages on November 5, 2026, so do not plan around it.
The cost after the build: sharing with testers
Minutes are what Codemagic sells. What a team often needs on top is the part after the build: testers on phones, iPhones registered, feedback, and a check before the store. On Codemagic, those sharing features sit in a paid team, and download links last 24 hours (details in Codemagic artifact link expired).
One option is to stay on a personal Codemagic account for builds and share through another service. AppForShare does not build apps and never replaces Codemagic minutes. As listed on our pricing page:
| AppForShare plan | Price | What Codemagic users add it for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Install page with QR code, password per build, UDID finder, readiness check, tester feedback; 7 day links |
| Pro | $12/month | Upload from a Codemagic publishing script, links live while subscribed, channel links, iPhone onboarding link and Apple registration, Connect Codemagic, store upload to TestFlight or a Play testing track |
| Team | $39/month, 5 seats, $6 per extra seat | Tester groups with no 20 tester cap, install status, private projects, TestFlight groups and beta review after a store upload, Play production rollouts |
If you are solo on Codemagic Free and only you install builds, you do not need any of this. If the reason to move to a Codemagic team is "a client must see builds", compare a Codemagic team's per minute bill with a personal account plus Pro at $12.
One honest point the other way: Codemagic paid plans have unlimited members. AppForShare Free and Pro have one seat and Team has five, then $6 each. Testers never need a seat on AppForShare, but developers do.
Ways to spend fewer minutes
- Cache pub, CocoaPods and Gradle folders with Codemagic's cache settings.
- Build Android on Linux machines when you can; they cost less per minute than Macs.
- Run tests on pull requests, but build and share full iOS builds only on the branches testers need.
- Stop a failed build early: put quick checks before the long build step.
Common questions
Does Codemagic have a free plan?
Yes: a personal account with 500 macOS M2 minutes a month, one member and one parallel build.
Do teams get free minutes?
No. Codemagic's docs say free minutes are not available for teams.
Is GitHub Actions cheaper for Flutter?
It depends on your minutes and your macOS share. See Codemagic or GitHub Actions for Flutter builds.
