Codemagic alternatives in 2026: what to replace and what to keep

Most "Codemagic alternatives" lists compare CI services side by side. That helps if you want to leave Codemagic entirely. Often the real problem is smaller: builds are fine, but testers keep getting expired links, or the team plan costs more than the builds. This guide splits Codemagic into the jobs it does and names alternatives for each, so you can replace only the part that hurts. Codemagic facts are as listed on codemagic.io and docs.codemagic.io on November 5, 2026. We make AppForShare, one of the tools below; read that section knowing that.

What Codemagic does

  • Builds Flutter, React Native, native iOS and Android, Ionic, .NET MAUI, Kotlin Multiplatform and Unity apps on its own Mac mini M2 and M4, Mac Studio, Linux and Windows machines.
  • Signs iOS builds with certificates and profiles it fetches with your App Store Connect API key, and Android builds with keystores you upload.
  • Publishes to App Store Connect (TestFlight and the App Store), Google Play, Huawei AppGallery, Microsoft Store, Steam, Snap Store, Firebase App Distribution, GitHub Releases and others.
  • Shares builds through 24 hour links in emails, Slack and build dashboards, tester groups of up to 20 people by default, and App Preview in the browser.
  • Updates React Native apps over the air with Codemagic Patch (CodePush).

Builds

GitHub Actions

Workflows live in the repository, billed per minute on GitHub's runners or free on your own. The macOS rate is about ten times Linux, so compare cost per iOS build. Signing is more work. Our Codemagic or GitHub Actions for Flutter goes through it, including a way to have the workflow and signing set up for you on your own Actions minutes.

Bitrise

A mobile CI with hosted Macs and a step library, plus a separate Release Management product. As listed on November 4, 2026, there is a free Hobby plan and Starter at $89 a month billed yearly. See Bitrise pricing for small teams.

Xcode Cloud

Apple's CI for iOS and macOS, with signing handled by Apple and TestFlight built in. No Android, so a Flutter team needs a second CI for that.

Appcircle

An enterprise mobile CI/CD suite with builds, signing, testing distribution and store publishing, and a self hosted edition. Its paid plan is quoted by sales.

Moving builds is the biggest change on this list. Workflows, signing and caches all move. Do it only if builds are the problem.

Store publishing

Codemagic's publishing section covers App Store Connect and Google Play well, including TestFlight groups, phased release and Play rollout fractions. If you move builds elsewhere, fastlane covers the same ground in any CI. Some release tools also send a store build for you after an upload. We did not find a store listing editor with screenshots, a rollout ramp or release approvals in Codemagic's docs; teams that need those add a release tool rather than switch CI.

Over the air updates

Codemagic Patch is an open source CodePush rebuild for React Native, self hostable, hosted with the first 100,000 monthly active users free as listed on November 5, 2026. Other CodePush services exist, and Shorebird does code push for Flutter. AppForShare does not do over the air updates and ships no SDK, so it is not an alternative here.

Sharing with testers: the part most teams replace

This is where Codemagic is thinnest, and where switching is cheapest, because you can keep building on Codemagic. As listed on November 5, 2026, its download links in emails, Slack and build dashboards last 24 hours, artifacts are kept 30, 60 or 365 days by plan, tester groups are capped at 20 by default, and dashboards and tester groups need a paid team. We did not find an iOS install page in its docs.

AppForShare

The tool we make. It does not build; it takes the .ipa, .apk or .aab from a Codemagic publishing script or from Connect Codemagic, which imports finished builds with a Codemagic API token. Testers get an install page with an Install button and QR code, with no account, in 13 languages. Links last 7 days on Free and while you subscribe on Pro ($12 a month) and Team ($39 a month, 5 seats). Pro adds a channel link that always opens the newest build, an iPhone onboarding link with Apple registration, and store upload to TestFlight or a Google Play testing track. Team adds tester groups with no 20 tester cap, install status and reminders. Every account build gets a store readiness check, and testers can send feedback with screenshots without an SDK. See Share a Codemagic build with testers.

Firebase App Distribution

Free, and the only sharing service with a publishing page in Codemagic's docs. Testers are invited by email or a link. Our Firebase App Distribution alternative post covers where it fits.

Diawi and TestApp.io

Diawi is a quick link for a single build. TestApp.io adds a tester app and QA workflow, and has its own Codemagic guide.

TestFlight

Free with an Apple developer account and fine for iPhone testers who accept the TestFlight app and beta review for external testers. Android needs something else. See TestFlight alternatives.

Where Codemagic stays ahead

Said plainly: Codemagic builds iOS apps without a Mac, gives a personal account 500 free macOS minutes a month, signs in its UI, has a Flutter Workflow Editor with no YAML, publishes to more stores than most, runs tests on device clouds, hosts over the air updates, and has unlimited members on paid plans, plus SSO, an SLA and a security report on request for Enterprise customers. If those matter, keep it and change only the sharing step.

Common questions

What is the cheapest Codemagic alternative?

For builds, GitHub Actions in a public repository, or your own Mac. For sharing, Firebase App Distribution is free, and AppForShare has a free plan with 7 day links.

Can I leave Codemagic for builds and keep my testers?

Yes, if testers use a sharing tool that takes uploads from any CI. Their links do not change when the CI does.

Is there a Codemagic alternative for Huawei AppGallery publishing?

Appcircle publishes to AppGallery too. AppForShare covers the App Store and Google Play only.

For a full side by side on sharing and store steps, read AppForShare vs Codemagic. To keep Codemagic and fix the sharing part, create a free account and add one publishing script.
